About the album

1. Jagadodharana

This song has a touch of contemporary feel, yet retains pure classical nuances rendered beautifully by BJ. NAVEEN IYER, a renowned flutist has played the Western Key flute & the Chinese Dizi Flute for the first Background Score! For the Second BGM, Veena, in the deft fingers of Sri. Bhavani Prasad melts our hearts. Third BGM has Sarangi, the pure north indian flavour, played by Murad Ali, one of the top line sarangi players of today expresses Jagadhodharana in his style. Sai Shravanam and Sri D.A Srinivas accompany this team on percussions. A chorus is also given to break the monotony & to give the required feel for the presentation. Keith peters, World’s renowned Bass guitarist gives a complete support adding dimension.

2. Mokshamu Galada : This master piece by Saint Thyagaraja, describes the glory of the Music and Moksha which goes in sync with each other. Being a pure traditional composition the song is orchestrated without dissolving the purity of the Raga Saramathi.

This song was recorded just once live in the Studio with BJ, Sai and Naveen playing simultaneously unlike the usual track recordings. Later, a pure western classical accompaniment using Harps, String Section and French Horns were added.

3. Sri Ramachandra : A New perspective of bringing in the finesse of Saarangi to a south indian classical vocalist. This has allowed BJ to show her versatility and dynamics which is similar to north Indian composition and ragas. There is a constant conversation of the Veena & Sarangi in this delicate number.

4. Irakam Varamal : The meaning of the song is something that would really define the tonal Characteristics of Sarangi ( compassion ) . Once again, there is a conversation of the vocal with the sarangi and Sanjeev backs up with a Classical Nylon String Guitar depicting the constant bed of Bhakti between the Devotee and God. The First time Sarangi is used a lead instrument for a S Indian vocalist in the history of carnatic music. Keith peters, lends ample support with his fretless bass.

5. Vaishnav Janto : A happy tune with a contemporary mix. A unique blend of new age music with purity in the traditional composition. Also, a concept of Pitch Shift used towards the end which hails up the mood of the composition. Naveen introduces a new instrument " MELODICA " to this song and also plays Bamboo flutes and SAXAPHONE . Keith peters, completes the orchestration with his trade mark value additions.
